There are a number of top hotels in Florence, Italy to match everyone's budget. By law hotels have to publish the prices of the room at reception as well as in the rooms, usually on the back of the door. However, in some hotels that are not up to scratch proprietors will try to pad out their profits by charging extra for hot water, heating in the winter, a compulsory breakfast during the high season and even compulsory half or full board.
With Florence Italy hotels make sure that the price that you have been quoted is all inclusive of any extras and taxes.

I don't know about you, but whenever I book a hotel room I always ask for a room with a view. No one wants a room that overlooks a car park or a building site, and this is especially so in Florence.
The following hotels all have rooms with wonderful views of Florence. Just make sure that you ask for these rooms when you book.
One of the best hotels in Florence for views
1. Hotel Bigallo
is a 3 star hotel in Florence that is family-run with views of the Duomo Complex so close that you can almost reach out and touch them.
The hotel is therefore very central to all the historic sites and is situated on the Duomo piazza.
The hotel is elegantly furnished with the rooms only just recently been refurbished.
See the Hotel Bigallo
website for more details:
2. - Hotel Hermitage
is a 3 star hotel has rooms that overlook the historic Ponte Vecchio and the Arno River and Santa Stefano. If you want the best view of the Arno in the hotel book room 602 which also comes with a balcony. The only downside to this elegant and charming hotel in Florence is that it can be difficult to find as is tucked away on a side street off the Ponte Vecchio.
There might be some city noise at night and make sure that you book a room with a view that has the new A/C units as not all rooms have these. During the summer you really want an A/C that works!
When you get there go to the 5th floor to check-in as this is where you will find reception. A little odd, I know, but there is an elevator for you to use.
You can get some fabulous photo shots of the river from the rooftop terrace.
Try the Buca restaurant which is right next door. The meals here are excellent!
See the website for Hotel Hermitage
for more details.
Hotel Loggiato dei Serviti
is a 3 star hotel that is again well located within the city of Florence that is an historical building from the 1500s.
The rooms are elegantly and tastefully decorated, each differently - one even has a 4 poster bed! Rooms overlook the Piazza della Santissima Annunziata which is a busy square.
During the summer they use the square for open-air movies - all in Italian - of course! But fun to visit for the novelty. It is also where gypsies sleep at night so be cautious at all times.
Although all rooms have private bathrooms not all come with private terraces, so if you want one of these rooms make sure that you ask for one when you make your booking.
Breakfast is served as a buffet and is included in your room rate, although check this when you book as changes do occur.
The OK bar, not far from the hotel may not look like much but the food is good and well-priced.
See Hotel Loggiato dei Serviti
for more details.
